TablePress
WSU uses a plugin called TablePress to create and manage tables in WordPress.
- TablePress can be access via the Dashboard of all F&A sites.
- If you don’t see the option, please reach out to FAIS!
Creating a new table:
A new table can be created by:
- Selecting the “Add New” option from within the TablePress dashboard
- Enter:
- A Table Name
- Description (optional)
- The Number of Rows
- The Number of Columns
- Enter:
- Once the table has been created it will generate something called a TableID.
- To insert a table into a page, post, or text widget, copy its Shortcode and paste it at the desired place in the editor.
- Each table has a unique ID that needs to be adjusted in that Shortcode. You can also click the “Table” button in the editor toolbar to select and insert a table.

Editing a Table:
- Tables can also be edited directly from the website.
- When viewing the table directly from the page there will be an “Edit” option below and to the left of the table.
- NOTE: The “Edit” option is only visible if the user is logged in AND has access to edit the site that has the table on it.
