There are often times when a new site needs to be added to or removed from a site’s Spine.
This Quick Tip is divided into two sections. One for adding a spine item and another for removing a spine item.
- Notes:
- For this tip you should already be on the page that needs the spine edit and logged into WordPress with editing rights.
- While there are multiple ways to edit the Spine this tip covers the most straightforward method.
ADDING A SPINE ITEM
- While viewing the page click the Customize option in the top bar.
- A new menu will appear on the left hand side of the window.
- Click the “Menus” option
- Notice that the menu switches to display the current Menus.
- Global Menu
- Site
- Offsite links
- In this tutorial we will be selecting Site
- Notice that the menu switches to display the current Menus.
- Click the Main Site Menu option
- You will see a complete list of everything that exists in the Spine of your site.
- Scroll to the very bottom of the Spine list and click on “+ Add Items”

- Another menu will appear that allows you to search for the specific page you want to add.

- From here you can add Custom Links, Pre-existing sites and external site links.
Note: If a menu item’s nesting needs to be adjusted it can be dragged to the appropriate nested level.
